I like Le Meridien hotels very much and Royal Meridien in Milan is a one of the greatest.

5 Star hotel, 200€ per night, breakfast NOT included, and for this you can expect something like 4,5€ for an expresso ......

I satyed in the Gallia Hotel in Ocotber for a weekend and i thought It was a fantastic hotel.The staff was very friendly and helpful .The breakfast was delicious ( lots of choice ) but a bit pricy I must admit , 30 euros.
The room size are good and it was also clean.the only negative point is that its a bit far from the city center , around 30 minutes walking.
i would definetly go back to this hotel next time I go to Milan
We arrived at the hotel after a 50minute shuttle service from Malpensa airport (5 euros each). We were given a complimentary room upgrade and a bottle of sparkling wine as it was our anniversary and my husbands 40th birthday. The room was great with a view of the train station (better than it sounds!!), the huge mirrored marble bathroom was amazing. Breakfast was far too expensive and we felt a bit cheated as we thought we'd booked B&B via expedia. Beware... breakfast cost us over £75 for the 2 nights we stayed. The hotel is situated on a large Piazza which was a little scruffy. The local drunks would hang out opposite!! Being so close to the train station and metro slightly unnerved me, what with the recent attacks on the London underground.
A great hotel, but would reccomend that you look further into the centre of Milan and make sure you get breakfast included in your deal!!
We chose the hotel for its 5-star category and location. To our great disappointment, the hotel room was dirty, including the bathroom, in particular the rims of the bath-tub and sink; the mirror still had the remnants of the previous guests' toothpaste. The room had been vaccuum-cleaned in a perfunctory fashion because we found plastic tags on the carpet when we got in. Because of a late check-out we could see the room after it had been cleaned for the next guests and the plastic tags were still on the carpet. Very expensive for such a dirty room. The location is also noisy at night even for Milan with the rattling of trams and the traffic.We do not recommend it unless the alternative is to sleep on the street
Certainly not worth 3 and a half stars. We were given room 539, on the corner, large and quite shabby. From 6am til midnight the sounds of the traffic and the trams going round the corner were deafening and we could not sleep. My sister is a very heavy sleeper but as I say the noise was deafening. A bug in the room feasted on us on the 2 nights we stayed and 1 week on we are still itching terribly, my sisters skin actually has come up in welts. The hotel is quite a way from the city centre. Staff were pleasant and helpful but we would never stay there again even at the Pricline rate we got of $100. per night. We returned home exhausted, irritated and itchy. NEVER NEVER again.
