Visit the Duomo and Galleria....

Visit the Duomo and Galleria. Located on one of the main shopping streets of Milan A new Zara store opened in Milan (the first in Italy) and there were probably over 1,000 people inside. Milan's has four floors, and since Zara is one of my wife's favorite stores, we had to go. Zara is a Spanish company, so it was pretty tough to break into an already competitive Italian fashion market, but Milan is the place to do it.
Cappuccino is for breakfast!
by donpaul77
Cappuccino and other elaborate coffee drinks are usually just consumed in the morning. After about 11am or so, people just drink coffee or espresso. I favor espresso, as it gives you that little kick you need without getting filled up.
Museo Nazionale della Scienza...

If you ever come to Milano you shouldn't miss the "Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnica Leonardo da Vinci". It is located right in the center of the town, on Piazza San Carlo, which is a foot from the Duomo.
There are many interesting sections in the museum: printing press, transports, astronomy, music etc., but the main reson to visit the museum is the Leonardo section. In this section you can see wooden reproduction of his inventions and reproductions of his drawings.

I usually go on fridays and the atmosphere is good! don't go wearing running shoes and shorts...
Milan's Metro
by Janani
I found the underground railway system in Milan useful, although my hotel was at only a little distance from the town centre. The maps were simple to use to work out the best route and the clear signs at each station made it easy for me to find my way from platform to platform when I had to change trains. It was a quick, efficient way to get from place to place although the disadvantage of travelling along underground is missing the view of such a beautiful city that you have travelling above ground. There are clear timetables for each line available on the website listed and information on the other public transport services too.
