Aperitivi
The custom of aperitivi is helpful when you're on a budget. Many of the bars in Milan, for the price of a drink, will give you food to go along with it. You can easily make it into a light dinner.

hi...
i will reach Malpensa arround 2pm and then want to travel by air from Malpensa to Turin because my end destination is Turin (Turino)...
Please help to advise some web pages links by which i can work out the suitable domestic flight from Malpensa to Turin ???
Is there any direct flight from Malpensa to Turin ???
thanks in advance.....Tabrez
Hi Tabrez, It's highly unlikely there are any flights between Milan & Turin as the two cities are so close. Your best bet would be to take the train into central Milan & then another train onto Turin. http://www.toandfromtheairport.com/milan.html
Hope you have a nice time, Darren.
It's not worth flying.
Get transport to Milan Central station from the airport, then take the train to turin.
Train times and fares (click 'buy') in English here:
http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
Journey takes under two hours, costs 8.95 one-way.
For transport from Malpensa to Milan Centrale look here:
http://www.sea-aeroportimilano.it/en/malpensa/
Click 'connection' on the left-hand menu.
I agree with both comments above.
I confirm there is no flight connection from Milan to Turin.
Alitalia Airlines sells a connection Malpensa-Turin in its booking engine, which is actually a train connection.
Malpensa MPX airport is closer to Piedmont than to Milan. There should be direct buses to Turin. See the airport site.
Ciao
Francesco
As Francesco said, look at the link that J (leics) provided to the official airport website. Here you will find http://www.sadem.it/upload/orari/estivi/000020.pdf
which will give you the 6 buses a day (during the summer, 5 during the winter) that run directly from the airport to Torino.
As Francesco noted, the airport is closer to Turin than Milano Centrale (the main train station). It would take a minimum of 2.5 hours (and probably 3 or more hours when you include wait times) to go from Malpensa by bus to Milano Centrale, then by train from Milano to Torino...whereas the bus is 2 hours max, direct.
Bill
Thank you all (Grazia) for this help which worth for me.....so my plan is to get the direct buss from malpensa to Torino.
sorry for asking too much,
my plan is to move further from Torino to Fossano so i have some further questions (i will be thankful for your help),
1/ what are options (by train or by buss) to go further from Torino to Fossano ?? which is the best one ?? any web pages for help.
2/ by using direct buss from malpensa to Torino there are three buss stops written on schedule as,
-Torino, c.so Giulio Cesare ang.via Cavagnolo
-Torino, c.so San Martino/p.zza xviii Dicembre-Porta Sus
-Torino, Autostazione Comunale
where should i get off from buss to further go to Torino (by buss or by train) what ever you recomend ???
kind regards.....Tabrez
Are you planning to stay in Turin a while, or are you trying to go from Malpensa directly to Fossano?
Bill
hi bill....
at the moment i am working on both options,

Don't miss the spectacular lakes near Milan. This is Italy's answer to Switzerland--or maybe Norway. If Italy had a fjordland, this would be it--long sparkling lakes nestled among majestic mountains. Instead of castles, there are elegant villas and graceful gardens to pass the time in. We went to Varenna in 1997. This charming, quiet village on Lake Como gave us a rest from the hectic pace of the rest of our trip. We found a warm welcome, and terrific food, at the family-run Hotel Olivedo. Manager Laura has the rare knack of extending hospitality without intruding. You can explore the historic sites on the lake (including too-much-of-a-muchness Bellagio) or just sit and watch the ducks swim across its surface. At night, you can watch the bats come out. Very tranquil. An unforgettable visit.
At TRUSSARDI's Marino Alla Scala, you can shop for designer leather goods (by the House of Trussardi, of course) as well as sip on a cappuccino or Bavarois...or order some cool drinks at the bar whilst watching fashion shows or music videos on the oversized video screens.
This was where I was introduced to the Italian pop scene (like Paolo Meneguzzi, Zero Absoluto, Alexia etc).
If you're not into the Italian pop scene, no worries. Head on upstairs where you'll be spoilt for choices with the different international cuisines offered at the restaurant. The icing on the cake? The Trussardi Multistore overlooks beautiful Piazza Scala. What more can a tourist ask for? Yes, only in Milan will you get pampered for choices. Everything TRUSSARDI.
Costs 5 euros, takes about 50-60 mins. Beware, there are 2 bus companies operating this route, the compete with varying prices and special deals (i.e. 3 for 2 etc.) and they have ticket hagglers all over the place. Make sure you buy the right ticket for the right bus.
Do not miss the happy hour at Via Casale.
I suggest to drink Spritz which is very popular in Italy. Eat as much as you can from the open buffet. You only pay 7 Euros to the coctails. All the buffet
