My favourite hotel in Milan

I really liked this hotel, which was recently refurbished and is situated on viale Tunisia at a peaceful location. My room was spacious and had air conditioning. Great shower and balcony. The hotel is not too expensive. Great breakfast is provided with loads of everything. It is in an ideal position for one of the main shopping areas - 'Corso Buenos Aires' and about 20 minutes walk south to the city centre. You can take a stroll through the lovely Giardini Pubblici park on the way there. The park is also home to a wonderful museum. The ponds are loaded with Koi carp - some massive! A great park for children to play in. The main rail station, Centrale Station, is also about 20 minutes walk to the north. From there it is only about 45 minutes on a train to Stresa at Lago Maggiore or Como at Lago Como and about 75 minutes to Desenzano at Lago Garda. To get about in Milan, if you really don't want to walk, the underground rail system is also close by. There is also a good tram service and bus service nearby. Across the road is a really good massage centre called 'Orchidea' which specialises in traditional Thai massage, Shiatsu and oil or herbal massages. Anyone will benefit from a visit there, especially after a long day walking or shopping, to chill out and relax those muscles. Don't miss this! I generally go for a traditional Thai massage for 1 hour followed by an oil massage. I also highly recommend the family restaurant 'Cooking' which is close-by on via Lecco, (Via Lecco 15) around the corner from 'Orchidea', and along a bit. Superb Italian food by Chinese staff. (They don't serve Chinese food). I go there every day if possible for lunch. Some of the best Italian food I have tasted - and Tiramisu to die for! Lovely, friendly staff. Restaurant is clean and not too big or small. It is not expensive at all. I love it.
