Just a little Decoration To Dress It Up

This building is the Ufficio del Territorio Milano Consulenze Erariali Demanio. Now, before you get too excited, I have no idea what they do here but I was sure impressed by their building. Located on the corner of Corso Monforte and via Conservatorio this was one of the most spectacular examples of Rococo architecture we had ever seen. The decorative bas reliefs were definitely over the top and fascinating.
A taste of suburban shopping
by sierralyndon about Centro Sarca
There are absolutely no shopping malls in Milan city itself obviously, you'll have to go to the outskirts for that. In fact, the whole concept of a shopping centre is fairly new to Italy - hardly more than 10 - 12 years old. But if you do want to experience what shopping in an Italian mall is like a good specimen might be the Centro Sarca in Sesto San Giovani. They have a big supermarket, about 80 shops, a few fastfood outlets (including Mexican and Tuscan), some cafes and a 10 room multiplex cinema. You'll find your usual franchise stores that you find in the city of course, but it's great to have them under one roof.
Cheap and Easy

The subway system in Milan is pretty decent. The only difficulty is trying to determine what type of ticket to purchase and good luck getting any help with that. No one is going to help you, even if you ask. And G-d save you if you dont speak Italian, because you really will get no help then and very few people speak either German or English. Which really surprised me.
Buy the 48 hour ticket from the vendors at newstands or tabbachi. Validate it at the subway or bus machine. Just hold on to it for the next 48 hours. I think it costs about 4 euros. The subway goes pretty much everywhere and the buses as well. There is little need for a taxi in this city.
My best Japanese Restaurant
by robbye77 about Bento Bar
Located in the cool area of Corso Garibaldi, the restaurant is very nice, great design, gorgeous food and very friendly staff. Don't miss it! Average prices as other sushi in town. You can also have a delivery service for free. Bento rolls and california rolls, perfect taste, not heavy for the stomach. Good wines as well.
