Arriving in Malpensa Airport at 10:40
Want to catch the train to Florence at 12:22 departing from Malpensa Airport Station.

Is the train station inside or near the Airport so that time is adequate?

Search for 'malpensa aeroporto'.

You should be out of baggage reclaim by around 1120 (unless there are delays) so you may be able to catch the 1122 (arr 1205) or (more likely, imo) the 1143 (arr 1235).

I can find no 1222 to Florence: it departs at 1215. So you will almost certainly miss it. There are, however, later departures at 1315 and 1415, a slower train at 1450 and so on....

The station is in Terminal 1.

Click on the + sign next to connections on the left-hand menu, then on 'link toward' then click on 'Stazione Ferroviaria' on the bottom part of the left-hand menu. the map isn't very goodk, but it will give you an idea.

I'm certain the station will be signed (with a train, I imagine) inside and outside the airport buildings.

I have not been to Malpensa recently and the train to Milan Centrale is a very new service. I shall know more once I have landed there and taken the train myself, in about 10 days' time.

I'm sure you'll have no problems finding the station or buying your ticket.
