Hotel Tripoli in Desenzano was great, there are also a couple of nice 4 star hotels nearby.

Found this website very useful when looking for hotels around the lake. We ended up honeymooning there!
Hotel panorama, Limone sur garda. fantastic location. 15/20 min walk into limone along coastal path - beautiful but hot! Free mini bus transfers in all day/ece. beautiful private beach, great foof. Stunning views from rooms. beautiful public rooms in hotel, again lovely views, eat on terrace overlooking lake. No road noise, right on lake side in your own little world. limone beautiful little town. great food in hotel and in Limone. enjoy!
All this shots are different, took in the course of several minutes only. There is the town of Desenzano across the lake and it is the direction in which I aimed my camera. As you can see on the pictures, it is the beginning of the November and the time is soon after 5 PM. Do not miss the sunsets when in Sirmione!
According to the founds, the complex of Roman villa had over 20.000 square meters and occupied 241 meters of the terrritory. It seems that villa was build in two different epochs; prof. Mirabella Roberti discovered an Antiquarium during the excavations in the mid of last century.
