Simply the best family run Hotel on Lake Garda

We have been taking our annual holiday in the Italian Lakes for a few years now, we particularly enjoy Lake Garda because the lake side towns are wonderful and each has its own distinct flavour and the hotels are a generally of a very good standard.

A couple of years ago we booked into the Hotel Catullo in Sirmione for the first time --- what a find this family run hotel is an absolute gem.

Unique Quality: The Catullo is located right inside the the most ancient and historic part of Sirmione, the decor is wonderful in a sensitively modernised version of late 1950s Italian high style. Everything in the hotel works perfectly for the comfort of the guests.

Because of the historic nature of the building the rooms are perhaps smaller than you might find in more modern hotels but they are comfortable, stylish and immaculately clean.

The Hotel's lakeside garden is a wonderful haven from he crowds of day trippers that engulf Sirmione in the middle of the day.


The staff are all terrific, friendly and kind , Fabio the member of the family who manages the hotel does so with style and panache.

The hotel is particularly popular with Italians (a good sign) and with english speaking tourists form the majority of residents.

In the best Italian traddition the food is excellent made from local produce, the local wines are also to be recommended.
