Great 3 star hotel
We stayed i Hotel Mavino for 2 nights back in May 07. We booked it on the internet and were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Its a small hotel and doesnt have common areas (bar etc) but the rooms are wonderful. We had a double room with a spacious balcony overlooking the lake. The views were incredible. The room itself was small(ish) but was well laid out and very modern and clean. The bathroom was new and was ultra modern!!! We loved out stay at Hotel Mavino and would definitely recommend it to others. Its in an ideal location and price is good for this area.
Unique Quality: Great views, Ideal location, not expensive

Hotel at the heart of Sirmione
Very nice hotel at the heart of Sirmione, inside the city walls. The area is very peacefull due the fact that there are no cars at all. When entering Sirmione old city, you need to have reserved hotel in advance, the bridge will be opened only if guard do have you name at hotel visitors list. Driving at very narrow streets is extremely interesting, be carefull with people. Sometimes there are no space for both car and people at street... The hotel do have their own small parking place available about 400m from hotel.

September in Lake Garda
We stayed 6 nights in September 2006. Our room had a balcony that looked onto Lake Garda.
The hotel is very new and had been fitted out with the latest gadgets including a flat screen LCD TV's although they had not went the extra mile to provide English speaking channels that you take for granted until it is not there!!! This minor inconvenience aside the hotel had an excellent location and was spotless. Breakfast is served on the top floor and included all the usual fare for an Italian Hotel ie Cappacino maker , cold meats & croissant's etc
Unique Quality: Great view from the room overlooking Lake Garda. Within the Historical centre of Sirmione a nice stroll round the shops & restaurants. No pool but the spa is just over the road if you want a pool.

Hotel Mavino
The staff was very pleasant and it is in a good location, between shops & the spa. We liked to walk to the spa and avoid the crowds so this is a great spot. You are also closer to the good beach without having to walk through crowds. Not good views but I scheduled late so didn't really care. Hotel Marconi may be a better choice as it is on water in the town but it fills up quickly. I still prefer to go to the spa, even to just lay out.
You can check in and unload car in front of hotel, then drive car up 400 meters toward the Grotto. The whole area from castle to Grotto is very tiny.
Unique Quality: New tiled bathrooms, seemed newly renovated. Has an elevator. Continental breakfast is served with a coffee machine that makes whatever you want (it's good).
