Casa Mia B&B
Casa Mia - I really did feel at home
We stayed for 4 nights at Casa Mia B&B at via Arcari 6, in Tirano.
It is an easy walk from the Tirano train station, and it is nicely situated in or near the old part of the town.
It is run by husband and wife Lorenzo and Grazia. And there are three upstairs guest rooms, each with private bathroom.
Every morning Grazia provides breakfast which includes a selection of juices, yoghurt, breads, sweet cakes, and we were given freshly sliced bresaola (a local cured meat) and freshly made coffee - made on the stove stop, full of milk, and served in very large coffee cups.
The hosts are wonderfully friendly and kind. We felt so comfortable and at home at this accommodation.
Unique Quality: The friendly service by Grazia in particular, is wonderful. She speaks only in Italian (which was great for Borte as it forced Borte to listen and speak only in Italian) but in any language, she is an excellent hostess.
She was kind and generous too. One day Borte asked her (in Italian) where the nearest Lavanderia (laundry) was, so that we could wash some clothes. She insisted, and at absolutely no charge, on us giving to her whatever we wanted washed. That evening, our clothes were returned to us washed, ironed and folded.
Our room cost 70 Euros per night. That includes breakfast.
We booked online through their website directly with them. I sent an email in Italian, requiring about availability for 4 nights. I also emailed our expected arrival time, once I knew it. Lorenzo sent us an email in Italian confirming the availability. They did not request any money upfront or any credit card details.
We paid in cash at breakfast time, to Grazia, the day we were leaving.
