I'm coming in to Ancona from Venice by train. Is there more than one train station? And my rental car location says "downtown". How far away is the rental car pick-up from the train station? Are there any rental car companies that rent directly from the train station?
Please advise.
Rental companies will usually list an address for their rental locations. Look up this address on google maps, and you'll see how far it is from the main railway station.
There is one main train station in Ancona which is close to the centre / downtown Ancona - as opposed to the alternate location at the airport.
Europecar for example is opposite the train station, so other agency might be there as well. Look up the address in www.viamichelin.com to have an idea.

What the travellers must undertsand, I think, when they come to this region....that they have to understand that is not a land of 'Florence, Rome, Venice...for example'....but this place is for someone, whom is looking for little details....tiny churches, small towns, little narrow alleys, low smooth hills...and plently more of really small details that can make your visit so worthy...and that will open your heart.... like no other place might! ;-)
Well… big games in the 4th division isn’t that common, but as for Fiorentina two seasons ago it could be nice to see a club in a division that low, that still has a big crowd. Specially at the end of the season, if Ancona are close to go up to Serie C1 there could be a really good atmosphere.
In the year 115, this arch in honour of Roman Emperor Trajan was finished. The triumphal arch is one of many monuments to this emperor found through Italy. It stands on the red brick harbour wall, close to two other arches, including one from the 18th century. It is possible walk on the old harbour wall, enjoying a view on the surrounding area and exploring the old defense structure.
In each summer we go with our youth center to Kourouta near Amaliada. We travel by train to Ancona and from there by ferry to Patras and by bus to Amaliada. From Ancona I only know the train station and the harbour, but it was each time nice weather and I'm sure I will visit this city once.
