The symbol of the town
This sculpture made of bronze represents today the symbol of Pesaro. Built for the Montréal Expò in 1967 by Arnaldo Pomodoro, a polyestere copy was taken in Pesaro in 1971. In 1998 The polyestere version was replaced by this impressive "ball" made of bronze. The citizens of Pesaro call it "Palla di Pomodoro", palla means ball in italian!! I miss to see it in real because I was in the old town for a walk. The 'BALL' stand in Piazzale della Libertà, the new part of the city close to the see. It takes almost a bus to join the new side if you are in the old part.
