Since getting there was definitely NOT half the fun, especially on a brutally hot day, I was thrilled with two things: the albergo broke the rules about room air conditioning (theirs actually worked beautifully), and the location could not have been better for our purposes, given that we had less than twenty-four hours to enjoy Urbino.
The desk staff could have been a bit friendlier, but the albergo was beautifully outfitted -- lovely pillows! -- and the breakfast (overpriced in my view, with an additional charge of 11 Euros per person) was sumptuous.
There's something a little titillating about sleeping in a fourteenth century convent. On our floor, you could actually look into the now-abandoned Chiesa di San Domenico.
Directions: Directly across from Palazzo Ducale
