Two Hotels We Saw

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 4, 2006

While desperately trying to securing a room in Urbino, we saw many places. I have chosen two that we would have used had they been available. That choice is based on cleanliness, location, and friendliness.

1. Hotel & Residence dei Duchi:
Three-Star Hotel

Address: Via G. Dini 12
I - 61029 URBINO
(Pesaro-Urbino) Marche- Italy

Telephone: (0722) 328226/328227

Fax: 0722/328009

This hotel has 80 rooms, all air conditioned and with private bathrooms.
There is direct dial telephone, mini-bar fridge, satellite TV reception, balcony.

The hotel has a bar and snack bar open 24 hours a day
Lounge, breakfast room, and restaurant.
There is laundry service, vast parking space and a garage.
There is an elevator

2. Hotel Raffaello:
Three-Star Hotel

Address: Via Santa Margherita, 38/40
61029 URBINO (PS)

Telephone: 07224784 or 07224896

Hotel Raffaello is located only a few steps away from Raphael's House, in the hert of the Old Town Center.

All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
Rooms have telephones, TV, radio, air conditioning, and mini-bar.

The views are of the Ducal Palace and/or the hills of the Marche.

This hotel building used to be the first seminary of Urbino, and has been a hotel since 1984.
Renovated again in 1995.
Important: Transportation to the main car park and the bus station are provided by the hotel!
This is a family-owned hote (the Pecci family)

Hotel Rafaello

by written on March 19, 2003

There aren't too many hotels in Urbino, or at least there weren't when I was there around 2000. (One was closed when we were there.) The first place we stayed at was a little grubby for my tastes--I don't mind a place being a little rough around the edges, but the bathroom must be clean! So the next day we moved to this more expensive place, which was not overly luxurious but very clean!
