La Corte di Maggiano: La Spezia
We had high hopes in the lead up to staying at La Corte di Maggiano. We booked our stay using the venere.com website for what seemed a good price. The day before we left i spoke to the manager of the accomodation who informed me they had no booking in my name but they could accomodate us for three times the original amount. We decided to go through with it and hopefully show them our booking on arrival. To cut a long story short it was a disappointing place and we felt ripped off.
Unique Quality: Could have potential but poor management at present. They charged us the full peak rate even though the buildings were still undergoing renovations and the pool was empty. They charged us the same price to sleep 4 people in one b and b as it would have cost for us to book two seperate b and b's. Bad business!!
Also now have my doubts about venere.com as they wiped there hands of the incident even though we booked through their webpage using the information they supplied.

Bed and Breakfast: Friends Italian retreat
We stayed in a friends house in the old town of Offida. It had spectacular views over the neighbouring vineyards and olive trees. Unfortunately, this accomodation was organised through family connections so would not be available for general use.
Unique Quality: The property was ideally located at the end of a very narrow road overlooking the surrounding valley.
