The church interior
This church in Arona was totally empty when i entered, although in the midst of the main street promenade. Suddenly you slip into this small corner of serenity and sacrecy from the lively street crowd.

My fiance LOVES CHEESE!!! We are going to Arona for one day on our honeymoon and I would really like to surprise him by taking him on a cheese tasting tour or to a restaurant/store that allows cheese tasting.
Do you have any ideas?
Thank you!!
I have found the website of a company in Arona that is in the business of cheese seasoning since 1876. It is possible to visit their seasoning grottos and have a cheese-tasting session.
Some pages of that website are translated in English, but the one about the visits is not. On the main page you will see that on the right side there is a box "Book a visit to the seasoning grottos" but it opens to a page that is only in Italian. In any case, booking a visit must be done by email.
Here's the website: http://www.guffantiformaggi.com/index-uk.html

Arona is situated close to Castelleto Ticino, a small town nearby Varese where I often sleep if there is no vaccancy in Varese hotels. During my last bussines trip to Varese, in mid-July 2005, I stayed there for whole weekend having enough time to explore nearby Arona.
The very first thing you see when approaching to Arona is the huge castle of Angera, small town which is situated right opposite to Arona. The castle of Angera is one of the best preserved mediaval castles in Italy and never in its history have suffered of any kind of destroying. Today it houses an interesting Museo della Bambola with a stunning collection of dolls, toys and miniature furniture.
