We spent one evening at the Grand Hotel Dino at the conclusion of a Globus tour, Cinque Terre and Northern Italy. Our room had a view of the lake and the mountains across the lake. There are two swimming pools here; one is a lap pool that is outside and the other is a heated indoor pool right next to each other. The grounds and landscaping are lovely here. Lots of impatiens decorating the porches and entry ways. There is a beautiful balcony outside the dining rooms which overlooks the lake. It's lovely to see the evening lights coming on across the lake in the mountains and hills.
Our evening meal was included here. We had a great salad bar that included huge wedges of fresh tasty cantalope, garden salad, grilled zucinni, eggplant and red peppers. There were platters of tomatoes with mozzarella cheese and nice platters of breaded shrimp - all delicious. Crusty rolls were on the table to go with our salads and the next course which was vegetable soup or pasta. The main entree was pork scallopini and potatoes or white fish. Both were delicious. Dessert was fresh fruit tart or ice cream sundae. Both were very good.
It's very easy to walk to Baveno from the hotel. There are easy walks along the lake and up streets to see the homes and schools.
Our room had a lovely large balcony that overlooked the lake. The room itself had hardwood floors but the bathroom was a beautiful marble on the floor and sink. The towels were fluffy and soft and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was a bit firm but the pillows were fine. The furniture looked like something from Versaille. The hallway is also quite grand and is certainly an equal to the beautiful lobby when we first entered.
Unique Quality: Definitely the pool area next to the lake is the outstanding feature here. Be sure to take Water Shoes to wear on your feet when you go into the lake - the shore is stoney.

Look at the website:
Pick your hotel. Click on 'camere e suites' and the room you want. Even the standard rooms have 'asciugacapelli' (hairdryers).
It would be a very unusual 4* hotel which did not provide hairdryers. Even 3* usually provide them, sometimes even 2*.
