Really a palace

Being one of the best hotels in Stresa, the Regina Palace is located on the avenue along the bank of the lake. Its style is typical of the Belle Epoque, in fact the hotel was built in 1908. It was renovated a few years ago, but the furniture and decoration retain the original style. Some rooms even have frescoed walls. During my stay I had a bed with a canopy, while my nephew had a round bed in his room.
When sitting in the lobby, or in the beautiful garden, one has the impression of living in a novel by Henry James.

Unique Quality: The hotel is classified as a 4-star, but it offers a level of luxury and comfort that deserves 5 stars. For instance, all the bathrooms have a jacuzzi. For those who want to book online, the hotel's website is very helpful and it's easy to compare the prices of the different types of room. Pay attention to the fact that not all the rooms have a view of the lake, so room prices differ also because of this.
The back garden is very charming, and there is a nice swimming pool.
There is also a large garage which is free of charge.

Charming Old-World Style

This is a charming, classic hotel with lush green lawns, colorful flowers, and a classy interior. Rooms are spacious, with large, clean bathrooms and a balcony big enough for two that overlooks Lago Maggiore. All the normal room amenities are included. My room came with a round bed.

There is a full breakfast buffet on the spacious veranda, and at night a small band plays while guests dance. The hotel is located across the street from the visitor's center, and the zoo is a short walk away. The town center is also a few minutes away by foot.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location

This was the first stop for a large group we were leading on a Christian tour of Turkey and Greece. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a long plane ride from California. This hotel is gorgeous! The Hotel is right accross the street from Lake Maggiore in Stresa, Italy. What else can you ask for. Of course everyone wished we had more time here. "Italia on Lago Maggiore"

Lago Maggiore is situation in two countries; Italy and Switzerland. At the Italian end is the town of Stresa, which is a major tourist destination. This charming, small town has many hotels ranging from multi-level affairs with balconies and views of the lake and the Borremeo Islands, just offshore, to smaller B&Bs.

I took a boat ride from Swiss Locarno, where I stayed for 4 days, to Stresa. It was on overcast day, with brief periods of rain. The boat crew was friendly, turning over responsibility to the appropriate part of the team when we crossed the border of Italy/Switzerland.

I spent a few hours strolling about Stresa, enjoying the views, the flora, the fauna, the folks and the food!
