The pinnacles
by sim1
According to some people the pinnacles represent the constructor's signature. Any constructor, indeed, gives it his own signature shape.
According to some experts, Pinnacles join the cult of the sacred stones, or also a representation of the primitive huts' stake cross; some claim that there's a simbolic meaning in the pinnacles,as in the paintings on the cupola.
Trulli Central
by TexasDave
This small town is about an hour's drive Southeast from Bari. The main reason for visiting it is to see the large concentration of round stone buildings with conical roofs made of stacked limestone which are finished off as domes inside, called trulli.
The town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.

Alberobello is a little town in the south-eastern part of Italy, between Bari and Brindisi. It is famous for it's special shaped buildings called 'trulli'
It is a very touristy village, but the trulli's are really special to look at. Not anything like you would expect to find in Italy. In the area around Alberobello you can find a lot of these buildings scattered around in the landscape. And in Alberobello itself are over a thousand trulli.
Alberobello is a UNESCO´s world heritage site.
