Brindisi by Jelena
Hi there, I'm looking to get from Polaris which is just south of Lefkada (Lefkas) on the west coast of Greece to Rome. Any suggestions. Options seem to be car to Igoumenitsa Ferry to Brindisi and train to Rome or bus to Athens and flight to Rome.
Do you have a car? Or do you intend to rent one?
We could hire a car but the fees for dropping off at a different location are high.
Well I guess it's more about what's critical to you, money or time. If money is an issue and you have time, I'd choose the first option car-ship-train in order to enjoy the trip from Brindisi to Rome as well - the ship trip from Igoumenitsa to Brindizi is short. If you have no time and you money allow it, choose the second option but, keep in mind that, the roads from Leukada to Athens are not the best, driving on them can break one's nerves; especially the part from Patras to Athens, gosh...
