Diamond Bay, San Domino
On our trip to Italy for the first time, we want to visit Roseta Valfortore as this is where ancestors are from. We will travel by train from Rome to Foggia and want to drive to Roseta. Any suggestions on hotel in Foggia, where to rent a car and what the driving would be like to Roseta. Mainly concerned about driving in Italy, especially as we do not speak/read Italian.

Sorry, no suggestions on hotels in Foggia but there is a Avis car rental kiosk at the railway station. Driving to Roseta Valfortore will be about one hour as you have to go around the hills. As for driving in Italy, you will have no problem, you could purchase a GPS with Europe maps preloaded prior to your trip. That could make it a little easier. The staff at the Avis kiosk were speaking English to me when I rented a vehicle there.
The biggest island of the Tremiti's archipelago, it is covered by a pine wood. It is great to have a tour with a boat around the coast. You can visit the many beautiful caves, such as the "Grotta del Sale" (...of the salt), the "Grotta delle Viole" (...of the violets) and the "Grotta del Bue Marino" (...of the seal).
On the island there is also the only small beach easily accessible... but usually too crowdy. Cala Diamante (Diamond Bay) in the green island of San Domino.
