Hotel Sole Mare: On the beach in old Ventimiglia

The Hotel Sole Mare is one of the beachfront hotels along the strip (between the Hotel Sea Gull and Basta Pasta Restaurant), however there's something brighter about it. Maybe it's just the yellow balconies facing the Mediterranean (actually...Ligurian) Sea and the very friendly staff. (Signora Albenga is a sweetheart!)

Unique Quality: Most of the rooms will face the beach, which is right across the street. NOTE: the beaches that do NOT have umbrellas and chairs set up are free...the beaches WITH them are private and will cost you.

Sometimes the traffic noises from the side street (that enter/exit into a small highway tunnel) can be overwhelming, but it's Italy. If you've spent anytime here and still haven't gotten used to Vespa motors and brakes screaching, you haven't been in Italy long enough.
