Where DEAF???

by deaf

Hope you can tell me

Where can I meet deaf in Alghero, Sardinia, Italy in May 2010?
I should be there from 26 May to 2nd June

Where can I find deaf organization or club on Sardinia?

Re: Where DEAF???

I know little about the deaf community, but I see that the Sardegnan chapter of the oldest association for the deaf (ENS) can be found at

Can you read and write Italian? Telephone numbers (DTS is I assume the data line) and email address can be found at

The websites for two other organizations for the deaf can be found at

Good luck!

Hello Bill.

Many thanks for your help.

I can not read and write Italian - so I may try to write English to them, hope they can read and write.

Have you been to Alghero or Sardegna? If yes would you tell me
what it is best to see something?
shopping? ect

Continued good day Bill:)

Sadly, I haven't been to Sardegna, although I used to live in Rome...but there are some VTers here who live there...if you don't get an answer on this post about general tourist questions about Sardegna (because the question was focused towards a specific audience), I suggest you make another post stating that you will be in Alghero at the end of the month and would be delighted to hear any suggestions on what to see and do...

Travel Tips for Alghero

You MUST book for this taste of Sardinia

by Paisleypaul about Al Tuguri

I have scored this ristorante 4/5 which is maybe slightly generous. Described by DK Eyewitness as serving 'some of the best food in Sardinia' an early afternoon inquiry found no tables for that evening - only the following evening, so the place is always full.

Food was very good but very simple, we both had lamb chops, lamb being a popular Sardinian dish rather than the Algherese slant on seafood. Local white wine up to the prevailing high standard, deserts a little ordinary.

Worth a visit - but after the DK review and scramble for a table maybe our expectaions were a little high Lamb chops.......and mirto to finish!
