'lovely hotel in alghero'
We have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at the Hotel Calabona, Alghero. We arrived quite late at night but were warmly welcomed by staff. All rooms have a wonderful sea-view and our room overlooked the splendid pool as well. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with fresh linen and towels daily. There is a small, private beach with sun-beds and parasols just below the hotel but if you prefer the pool, there are loads of sun-beds! no need to use towels here! During the months of July/August breakfast is taken al fresco with wonderful sea-views.
You can eat under the marquee if you prefer. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but half-board is available and there is a lovely dining terrace for lunches by the pool. Alghero is a good 15 minute walk away down the hill but is well worth a visit. There is a local bus stop near to the hotel if you do not feel like the walk (tickets available at hotel reception). There is a great restaurant just round the corner from the hotel which serves very good food at lunch and at dinner!
