Buses to and from Bosa Marina from Alghero Airport

by scotsfem

Hello,

Could anyone tell me the frequency of buses from Alghero Airport to Bosa Marina and return Bosa Marina to Alghero Airport. I have also booked a day off the Island flying from Alghero to Pisa with the flight leaving at 8am and returning at 9pm - is there bus connections so early in the morning and late in the evening too?

If buses are not available - does anyone know how much a taxi would cost?

Thank You

Buses from the airport are linked here:

http://www.aeroportodialghero.it/collegamenti/autobus_en.asp

The only bus I can find from Bosa to Alghero is operated by FDS, but it does not go to the airport, only to the town. Journey times is an hour and 5 mins, but first bus from the Marina is at 06:55, last bus back at 19.30 so I think you will need a taxi.

For bus timetable, go to:

http://www.ferroviesardegna.it/

Under 'servizio automobilistico' click 'elenco linee extraurbane'. this will give you a page with all bus services: click on the name to get the timetable.

http://www.getaroundsardinia.com/show_page.asp?id_pages=11

is an excellent page giving links to all public transport (and how to navigate their sites).

Hi,

I got that 8 am Alghero - Pisa flight yesterday, so I have fresh information!

You could take a taxi from Bosa Marina to Alghero, and then get the airport bus (it's called the AL.F.A.) from Alghero at 6.30. It arrives at the airport at 6.50, so you are in good time for check-in. The bus leaves from Via Cagliari in the park. You have to get a ticket in advance to stamp on the bus, so you'd have to buy that on a previous trip to Alghero, at a Tabacchi.

I don't know how much a taxi would cost all the way from Bosa, but I've heard that from Alghero to the airport it would be something over 20 euros. Bosa M. to Alghero could be a bit more.

Travel Tips for Alghero

Alghero and the Catalans

by BeChar

In 1353, the Catalan fleet defeated the Genoa's protection. The Algherese revolted by killing the commanding officer. The Spanish responded by sending 12,000 men to suppress the revolt. The original inhabitants were forced to abandon their homes and allow the town to be settled by Catalan families.

This Catalan influence is still largely present today in Alghero. Half of the population speaks Catalan, street names are both written in Italian and Catalan and it's hard to guess one name from the other.

Explore the old town

by cabeyp

"Get lost" in the narrow streets. You will have explored it within 2 hrs.
If narrow lanes interest you but you don't like getting lost, you can go wild in Alghero's old town. So small you cant get lost. Still lovely enough to just ramble through for some hours.
