Looking for a studio or chalet in Alghero

Hi, i am looking for affordable accommodation for 16th to 29th July. Would like to be in a good location in Alghero so i can walk to the shops beach etc. if you know of a good place to stay let me know or if you know of the best location in Alghero so I can focus on that area that would be good also.

I haven't actually stayed there yet, but I've booked this place:

They have studios and two roomed apartments as well as a B&B. Its right near the beach and walking distance into town. They sound really nice and they're not too expensive.

I am going to Alghero in a few weeks time for 3 days & have booked a double room at the El Delfi. Reasonable cost for B&B & it seems to be fairly close to the sea & the old town. They have a website www.eldelfi.com & you can email them with any enquiries. Marco the owner takes a couple of days to reply but he appears to be very friendly & helpful. He even offers to collect from the airport which is a just a few km away.

I actually booked this place by mistake! Someone I know thought someone they knew had stayed there - it turned out that it wasn't the case!! But the reviews I have read on all the usual sites (but not on VT unfortunately!) have been very positive! Feel free to email me after June 13th for my verdict - I will no doubt post some pics & tips too!

Travel Tips for Alghero

First in new town

A larger restaurant which ended up being the only place we ate outside of the old town. Spacious with seating inside and out We split a massive mixed antipasti (Eu12,50) containing prawn tuna mussels octopus cheese prosciutto aubergine courgete and salami ! Straight to secondi, fillet in pepe verde and grilled swordfish, with spinach in butter for contorni. A litre apiece of house white and mineral water and a large bottle of ichnusa Sardinian beer. Perfect ! Eu54 including cover charge

Hi we stayed here in January, a few years ago now. It was the end of Jan, the weather was sunny and pleasant, not hot by any stretch of the imagination but it felt like the Bahamas after being in the UK!

Lovely memories of a very pretty special place. The only downside was, being way off season, most restaurants/cafes were closed.
