An upper end restaurant, there is a Eu2 cover charge per person and a 10% service charge added to your bill. Half lobster at Eu36 was the single most pricey course of the holiday

There was a power cut for about 30 or 45 seconds the evening we were in , would not know if this common or not ! Half lobster was delicious, great with Alghero Sauvignon wine

We were 110 Euro inc. service for the wine, lobster and other main, 2 primi and 2 dolce along with 2 bottles of water

"A little country"

L'Alghero is placed in north-west of Sardinia. Is a little town, maybe over 40.000 inhabitants, betwen center and surroundings. The city was 6 centuries ago repopulated by the king of catalans, "Pere el ceremoniós", after a battle against the sardinians. Now, this gave the identity to this little country. The old town, small and very charmer, has buildings of catalan gothic style. You can see the catalan flag around the village. And people see him self as very near to the catalans from catalonia, in character and language. Although half millenium is passed, one from Palma de Mallorca or from Barcelona can understand with one from l'Alguer without too much problems. A really interesting cultural "island" into the sardinian island.
L'Alguer està situat al nord-oest de Sardenya. És una ciutat petita, potser uns 40.000 habitants entre centre i rodalies. La ciutat va ser repoblada fa 6 segles pel rei català "Pere el Ceremoniós", després d'expulsar els sards que hi vivien. Ara, això és el que dóna identitat a la ciutat. La ciutat vella, petita i encantadora, té varis edificis en gòtic català. Podreu veure la senyera per tot arreu on aneu. I els algueresos se senten molt propers als catalans, tant en llengua com en caràcter. Tot i que ha passat mig mileni, un de Palma o un de Barcelona es poden entendre amb un alguerés sense massa problemes. Realment, una "illa" cultural dins de l'illa de Sardenya.
