We are visiting by cruise ship at the end of May and want to see the most interesting and popular places. Can anyone give us any ideas on how to plan our time well?
I guess 5 hours will be just enough to see Cagliari if you go around quickly and don't lose too much time. Just be prepared not to spend any time eating at someplace and also be prepared to miss most of the museums.They are not that many, but they are actually quite interesting, especially the archeology museum.
Just get some map from the tourist information center right in front of the train station next to the port. You can also ask the same question there and I think you will get a more comprehensive answer from them,including opening times, etc. Start from the old town on the hill,because all that you really have to see is there. Go to the top of the Elephant tower, the view there is magnificent and don't miss entering the Cathedral. Since the old town is not that big you can go around the walls and most of the streets there.

Travel light if going in summer Resort wear, but try not look too touristy because then you will stick out like dogs balls My biggest regret was not taking a snorkel. Although there is no coral life here the water is absolutely crystal clear off the coast of Sardinia. Head out of Cagliari to see this though becuase every major city has its pollution.
