Cigno Bianco: Camping close to Tortoli

by iammon

We stayed there in the middle of September and they were already kind of closing up. We did not mind as it was very peaceful this way. However you could not rely on the shop/bar/restaurant being open. Which was a bit of a negative experience for us.
The camping was however the cleanest I have seen so for on the island. Especially the showers and toilets.
Playground was OK for the kids (just a bit of too many mosquitoes there). Lots of shade, fire pits.
Staff not very helpful.
They have bungalows and mobile homes as well.
We paid for 4/ Tent/ Car and power for 5 nights 112 Euros.

Right on the beach. Closest spots to ocean are in the sand as well. So we really had a beach camping holiday experience. Just outside the camping are a few deck chairs for free use.

L'Ea Bianca Hotel & Luxury Resort: In the middle of a (wonderful) nowhere !

by WStat

Situated by a remote bay of Baia Sardinia, this rather new hotel (buildt 2008) offers 31 beautifully styled luxury-rooms, junior suites and suites as well as 5 villas. As beautiful the view over its beach might be, so troublesome is it to get there,(one has to cross a small creek and rocks) let alone to walk on the rough and sharp sand (so dont forget your flip-flops!)
People at reception and restaurant are extremely helpful and excellently trained, above all the restaurants Maitre, Sign.Giovanni and the receptionists.
Food tries to meet the hotels 5-star rating, its quality changes from day to day.Very good salads and fish or pastas, cooked al dente-dente (you need very good teeth). Here and with regard to the menue, the chef should undergo some further training
Wines are pricey, even the most simple Sardinian ones are around EUR 50 with no limit above.A 0,7liter mineralwater charged with EUR 10,- seems a bit exaggerated.Nevertheless the mainly younger guests seem to accept those prices with no complaints, due to the advantages of this nice (nearly boutique-like)hotel, whose charm may decrease somewhat in the future, when the adjacent villas or appartments (now under construction) will be ready.
Important: the hotel is remote, so a car is essential.
Room Tip: west-wing has morning-sun, east-wing only after 6pm

Jacuzzi or similar bath-tubs with special functions in most of the rooms

La Terrazza: Go for B&B's

by SailingSplit

This place had really nice newly renovated rooms - a superb friendly host (did'nt) speak much english though, but we managed with a little french, english, spanish:)

A beautiful terace on the roof with view to the ocean.

A cosy small "sleepy" town - but we were a bit ou of season so can't say how it is in high season.

The town is Tresnuraghes (OR) on placed on the West coast of Sardignia...The northern westcost is very rocky and wild and so beautiful.

You need a car to get around here and the costline is approx. 15 min. from Tresnuraghes of fantastic driving...

The terrace on the roof - perfect..!!

The beautiful rooms - sometimes when you see pictures of B&B on the net you get a little surprised when you see it live - not always in a positive way....This was definitely surprising in the best posible way...

Very friendly host.

Hotel Regina: General locations for hotels in Cagliari

by Laserone

Hi there! Hotel Regina Margherita in Via Regina Margherita is good. Also the B&B Antica Via is fine. Both are smack downtown. Look, downtown there are no beaches but just outside you'll find already astonishing good ones.

Now, beaches: only in the Cagliari area or are you planning a trip? (note: within 30 minutes you could be in gorgeous beaches. Add another 30 minutes and you could be even more surprised. Or if you must stick around Cagliari, the Poetto beach is 10 minutes with a cab and you might find flocks of flamingos there, too!). Cause I was on an intensive sardinian trip this summer with my sardinian girlfriend and I can tell you of a lot of places. BUt I would need to know how long you're staying and if you're on your own (+ gps?).

Camping Isuledda: Centro Vacanze

by iammon

Nice campground located close to three different beaches. Very well organized if not over organized. Which meant for us a bit too much entertainment specially in the evenings. Every nite there was loud music till later than 1. (Musicals, disco, karaoke)
They have a gym, big supermarket, little clothes store, big reception area were you can book tours as well, lots of water sports, a port, kids playground. Not too many toilets and showers, however clean and free hot showers. Bring own toilet paper. There is a restaurant, pizzeria coffee bar.
Most pitches are in a Wi-fi zone.
Not many mosquitoes as they spray something every week at nites.
During siesta time you are not allowed to drive in. Car park can be quite far away. So bikes are a good option. Parking is supervised and insurance is included.
We paid for 8 nights 196 Euros.

Offer different kinds of accommodation. Kid friendly place. Good location for day trips.

La Mariposa: Alghero's Campground

by iammon

A small campground just outside of Alghero's old part of town. Located directly at the beach.
Most tent pitches are a bit on the sunny side and if you are under the trees there are heaps of mosquitoes. However location is great as you can bike along a bike path to the center. There is heaps of clean toilets and showers (warm water with tolkien) It has a small market, a restaurant and bike rental. No BBQ allowed at pitches however there is a central located one for usage.

We paid for 3 nights for one tent, three people, car and power 75 Euros.

Just the vicinity to the old part of town.

Villagio Camping Capo Ferrato: Best campground at Costa Rei

by iammon

8 nites with tent with power for 158 Euro.
Has a supermarket with OK prizes (other ones are in walking or better biking distance, about 500m, same for other restaurants, Gelaterias, ATM and bakery. However not much else) a restaurant and bar.
Tennis court, basketball court, two playgrounds for children. Free hot showers, clean toilets (bring own paper), wash machine and tumbler, Baby-room with wash basin.
During July and August they have animation. When we were there they had Sardinian weeks with botanical tours and such. They have bungalows as well.
Bus Stop close by.
Some spots have beach view (through fence) but all spots are very close to beach.

Not too big. Very friendly staff.

La Luna sulla Duna: great hospitality (from Bologna)

by PALLINA

Exceptional place where to relax, found on the web my accident by my husband. It is run by a nice lady in her 50's, coming from Bologna after leaving her previous job as designer. When she is not there, the B&B is properly run by her parents, a funny and nice couple in their 70's.
The location in great, on a hill looking over Porto Pino' beach. Well, you can walk to beach but I raccomend you to drive there. There are 6 big rooms with bathroom, no TV but you won't miss it!!!
Breakfast is huge and rich of home made jam and honey; unfortunately it is an Italian breakfast (so no cheese of ham, dear foreigner friends!). The lady speaks French fluently...some problems with English instead....
Opens from May to October
STRONGLY STRONGLY RACCOMENDED!!!
