Nice hotel near wonderful Porto Istana Beach
This hotel is 10km south of the airport at SS125 in Murta Maria (a place belonging to Olbia). It is a newly built 4-star hotel complex with nice pool and wonderful food and very nice staff. 2km from it, there is the wonderful public beach of Porto Istana (at www.parkhotelporotistana.it), in midst of a wonderful nature protection area opposite to the stunning island of Tavolara (nature protection area, coming 500m out of the water, protecting the wonderful sand beach area of Porto Istana). We had a workshop at this hotel Speraesole - it is a perfect place for a workshop or small conference due to the nice and complete hotel facilities and good accessibility from Olbia airport (but beware, there is a one lane bridge between the airport and Murta Maria - which is very helpful against too many tourists, but on rushhours you can wait up to 45min there they told us). I hope, in future maybe they might add internet access and bicycle rent in Murta Maria or in the hotel directly (now this is only available in Porto Paolo, which is a much louder harbour place 5km south of Murta Maria at the sea). Bus line number 5 operates from Olbia to Porta Istana and stops in Murta Maria, but I do not know the cycle times.
Unique Quality: Very nice Sardinian style architecture, nice pool and garden area, nice and large rooms (air conditioned, with large balcony), good access to airport, but outside the city at the border to a nature protection area, wonderful partly open restaurant area towards the pool.
