We stayed one night in this organic farm, where the owners also produce oranges, almonds, pistachios, fruit and vegetables, wheat and extra virgin olive oil made from rare, very old olive trees. The building have great character and look some what Spanish, don't know why. We arrived early, but were allowed to go to our rooms and refresh. In the afternoon we visited the temples and in the morning the museum of Agrigento. We had a great diner with the family and some of the other guest, but it is also possible to cook your self.
We had a very nice apartment, one sleeping room with a bath room on the ground floor for my disabled mother. The room could be reached by car. The room was nicely redecorated and well equipped. The setting of the farm is great and travelling to the temples is easy.
The Agnello family has run the farm since the 18th century. It has been open to the public since 1995.
Great setting and strong character of building; friendly owners; quiet.
This hotel is rather residential type. It’s located in a small village, Agrigento area, 15 minutes drive from Agrigento ruins. Rooms/apartments have refrigerators, kitchens and utensils. I got myself a room (for three people) with the largest balcony in the hotel. Off season I booked this room really cheap and enjoyed ocean view. Only two other families stayed at the hotel at that time.
Our residency was clean. Every room had a door and window(s) looking at balcony. The staff was very helpful in all terms. In general, it was awesome to spend two quiet evening on a shore in between trips to hectic cities and lots of walking to do.
Parking is free. Breakfast is good, although the staff felt free to eat some of the pastries before us. Liquor in the bar is very expensive. Instead, we found the store around, bought a bottle of nice white wine and drank it on the beach watching sunset – amazing.
It is only 5 minutes drive to San Leone’s restaurant’s area.
