More about Terrazze di Montelusa Bed and Breakfast

Loved the Montelusa!

by TripAdvisor Member sally_jrs

The B&B is located right in the middle of the old section of Agrigento on a little square called Piazza Lena.

Although the B&B doesn't have private parking, we were able to find parking in Piazza Lena (right in front of the B&B twice). And I think that if you couldn't find parking there, there are some lots nearby and of course the streets.

This little B&B was lovely with two huge terraces offering views of the temples (in the distance) and a third terrace overlooking the streets of Agrigento.

We booked a double room, but Francesco put us in a one bedroom apartment! It was very spacious and clean and had everything one could want.

Francesco made us feel so welcome and at home. Upon our arrival, he told us the history of the building and showed us various pictures. Then we had a welcome drink on the terrace.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this B&B, especially because Francesco was so wonderful. When we left he mapped out our drive to Modica and gave us all kinds of great advice on restaurants, etc. while we were there. Seriously, we felt like we were staying with a friend!

Exquisite Terrazze di Montelusa

Exquisite Terrazze di Montelusa!

We have just returned from a trip to Sicily which included a two-night stay at the Terrazze di Montelusa. The B&B is an excellent example of the tradition of beautiful Italian design. We stayed in the junior suite on the 3rd floor (N. American 4th) and our room was beautifully decorated, with gold and grey marble floors, a high ceiling with exposed beams, and comfortable easy chairs, combining to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. There aren't many hotel, or B&B, rooms that could contend with a full day of heavy, constant, rain but we were comfortable staying in our room almost the entire day and actually preferred it to going out in the cool, wet weather. From the several terrazzes on our floor, we had views of the ocean, the surrounding hills, and the Valley of the Temples as well as the rooftops of Agrigento. Francesco Foti, the host, is interesting and well informed as well as being helpful and discreet - who could ask more? It is a lovely place which we highly recommend to anyone who does not have an ambulatory challenge as one must negotiate the inviting marble staircase.

Le Terrazze di Montelusa- a great find.

This place is really special. It is the owner Francesco's family home which he completely renovated to create a delightful B and B. It is very well maintained and thoughtfully decorated. It is very spacious and modern with a real Sicilian feel to it with family photos on the walls. We stayed in a very lovely suite. The place was spotlessly clean. The terrazze were also a great feature of the house with lovely views of Agrigento. Francesco is a wonderful host and extremely helpful with very good advice.
I can't recommend it enough.

An Agrigento , Sicily Jewel !

by TripAdvisor Member ferrettTX

Terrazze di Montelusa B&B is well located in the heart of Agrigento, with spacious rooms, and a delicious breakfast.!
No Elevator, but the wide marble stairway to the second floor is not a laborous climb . Ths was truly the only drawback.
We enjoyed this B&B and the proprietor, Mr. Francesco Foti was most helpful and friendly. He put us at ease from the moment we met. The room we chose was well appointed in gold and blue, spacious, and comfortable with a large adjoining bathroom with shower.
Breakfast consisted of a lovely array of Sicilian pastries, tea coffee, and various fruits.
The B&B terraces were nice areas to relax , take breakfast, or capture in photos the city below. The city begs to be photographed with the tiled rooftops and quaint church steeples nearby, as well as one of the lighted Greek ruins in the distance.
After staying in many other "important " hotels or B&Bs', we knew we had found a jewel, and a real buy!
We would stay here just for the experience even without the nudging of the lovely Greek ruins and the Museum this quaint , photogenic city boasts!
We met other travelers at the B&B who were happily returning for another visit!
We don't own stock in this place, just know a good buy when we see one from our many European travels!
I have yet to learn resizing of photos so you'll just have to take my word for this find!

Gorgeous and comfortable B&B in Agrigento

by TripAdvisor Member david9498

Our family of 4 booked via hotel website a suite which was one bedroom, one living area with sofa bed, kitchenette and bathroom. We arrived via car in the afternoon for 4 pm check-in and were assisted by Francesco with luggage and parking. The B&B is on the second/third floors of a lovely old buiding (there is another hotel on the first floor) The place is furnished to a very high standard (think 5* quality) and is kept spotlessly clean. We had two quiet and comfortable nights' rest. Francesco speaks English very well. He is very proud of his home and is also very helpful with area information if you desire. He even let me use his laptop to make online a last minute itinerary change. Breakfast (indoors or on lovely terrace with great view) was simple yet delicious. We took a bus to the valley of the temples and walked to nearby restaurants and other sites. Agrigento was a nice surprise as we did not know what to expect. The gardens near the temple were a real highlight and not to be missed. This is a fantastic B&B in a fascinating area. You will NOT be disappointed. I can't think of anything negative to say about Terrazze di Montelusa! If you come to Sicily, stay here if you can. My only recommendation for tourists arriving by car would be to park away from the B&B and walk to it if possible as parking in front is very (!) tight with limited availability. If you really want to save yourself some stress, avoid driving in Sicily totally :)

At New Years Eve we stayed here and we were very pleased by the interior, the comfort and the location of this B&B. Nearby all the highlights of Agrigento. It is located in a magificent, old but totally renewed building; the host is very friendly, talkative about (history etc.) of the region and warm. From the terraces beuatiful views. I can recommend this B&B to everyone.

no mediocrity

No mediocrity at this B&B. Francesco's cares, and it shows. From the rooms, to the views, to Francesco's being the perfect host, you will enjoy your stay. I will be returning, hopefully again this year.

Everything perfect

by TripAdvisor Member all0ra

Nice rooms, furnished with a lot of taste, a terrace with a great view over the valley and the houses of the town and a owner (Francesco), who really cares about his guests. It was wonderful to have a fresh breakfast in the first sunbeams of the uprising spring, to overlook the rooftops with the greek temples gleaming in the distance.

Francesco provided us with all kind of information and when he didnĀ“t know something he even lend us his computer. Absolutely to recomend.

Excellent stay

by TripAdvisor Member wilytraveller

Excellent room, very spacious (although we did book the suite!) but even the standard rooms were large. Decor was to a high standard. No English speaking TV channels though!

Owner extremely helpful. Car parking in Agrigento is not easy, but if you time it right you can park in front of the B&B.

Location is excellent, right in the centre of the old town. Bring a good map of the town centre with you as finding the B&B by car can be a little hair-raising especially if you go down the wrong narrow road!

Breakfast was good quality continental style. Views from the top floor across the city are amazing.

Great B & B

by TripAdvisor Member DivaNewYork

Terrazze provides it guests an elegant atmosphere with high ceilings, lovely furnishings, and wonderful views. You can have your breakfast on one of the terraces and see the Valley of the Temples in the distance. Terrazze is near the main shopping street, and the owner will give you good restaurant recommendations. Make sure to go to his favorite gelato spot. Just Fantastic!
