A bus of the company AMT "ALIBUS" departed everu 20 minutes from the airport. The stops are: Fontanarossa, Asse dei servizi, Faro Biscari, Tempio (Porto), Colombo, Borsellino (Porticello), Vittorio Emanuele, Duomo, Etnea, Stesicoro, Sicilia, Martiri Libertà, Stazion.

The right stop should be Stasicoro.

Travel Tips for Catania

Fresh seafood in a great terrace

by baronedivandastad about Trattoria del Cavaliere

Try the fish (or the horse meat if you're a fan of it) in this place situated in a great terrace very near the historical centre. You won't be disappointed though the price is a bit on the high side. Book in advance in the summer. Get up and choose the fish you like!

The Arch of Via Crociferi

by ICBT

The arch at the southern end of the Via was built so that the nuns living in a cloister could travel to church without having to go outside. In earthquake-prone Catania such a walkway was considered inordinately dangerous (its collapse would block the escape route of a number of streets), but it was built all the same, and the nuns still use it. In fact, they only step outside once a year, in order to offer a song to St. Agata during her festival (see my travelogue, 14th Installment, for much more detailed information).
