Sicilian Luxury
I had a great stay at the Excelsior with its excellent style, friendly staff, clean rooms. Internet service is available through Vodaphone.
Unique Quality: Great location, within walking distance of center of the city.

Excellent hotel and even better bar
This hotel may not look that nice from outside, but inside it's another story. Great, comfy beds, quiet rooms, polite and competent service and probably the best bar I've seen in my life. It's centrally located, too, a few steps from Via Etnea and some 15 minutes from the Duomo square.
Unique Quality: The bar deserves a three page special mention. The red-haired barman will prepare all possible cocktails for you, and the atmosphere seems to be from a 1970 movie, with all sorts of business people, traders, occasional travellers and piano bar players crossing into the spacious room.
