Beautiful accomodations with private sea access
The Sheraton Catania was the first hotel in Italy that upgraded us because we were on our honeymoon. We were given one of their suites reserved for preferred customers and were brought free champage, pistaccios and other nuts. The suite was large, with a couch, coffe table and chairs to the right of the room, the bathroom, queen sized bed and desk to the left. At the far end of the room was a small patio with two patio chairs and a small table that looked out to the pool and sea.
The hotel had several bars, restaurants (which had an amazing buffett breakfast in the morning), pool, gym, tennis court and private access to the sea. I could have stayed here a week and never left the hotel. I'm hoping to actually do that someday.
Unique Quality: The pool was simply beautiful. While in the pool you can look right out at the sea. Beautiful and peaceful. There is a small bar by the pool and access to the restaurant. By obtaining a key from the front desk you can access the sea via an passageway that runs under the street to the sea. There are chairs in the shade as well as in the sun if you'd like to get tan. There are two ways to access the sea. To the right stairs lead down to the rocky bottomed water. To the left an area where you can dive into safe, deep water. Beware that as the stairs to the right lead into the water stepping off the next to last step was over my head, which is about 5'9" from the ground. Be careful if you have children who are not well acquainted with the ocean.

A somewhat ordinary Sheraton
A moderatly modern hotel with uninspiring architecture and lower quality than many I have stayed at.
The very minor thing that seemed odd was that they claimed that as they were a Sherton franchise, they would not accept Starwood cards for hotel points which I found to be most odd. Maybe they guy just had a bad day !
Unique Quality: Fairly standard Sheraton with gardens and a pool not far from the sea. It is however on the wrong side of the very congested town for the airport.

FINEST STAY WHILE @ CATANIA
This hotel is ideal for both business and leisure trips. It is situated accross the street from the beach and only 2 miles away from the centre. It is a conference hotel as it has alot of facilities for business meetings and is also ideal for leisure trips due to its relaxing facilities such as an outdoor pool and free daily transport to the town / shopping centre of Catania.
Being situated on the outskirst and on the promenade it offers rooms with front balconies / terraces and sea views.
It is also very modern and clean.
Unique Quality: Being exceptionally modern and offering certain characteristics such as:
Air-Conditioned Rooms, Balcony, Cable channels, Garden / Sea View rooms, 24hr front desk, Hair/Beauty Salon, Business Centre/Services, Car Rental Services, Conceirge, Jacuzzi, Luxurious Bath/shower rooms, Swimming pool, 3 Restaurants and a Piano Bar all team up to make your stay in Catania a memorable one.
