My husband & I spent a week in Cefalu the 2nd week in Oct. We found we were comfortable in slacks & warm shirts (in the evening wore jackets). It was cooler than we thought but sunny every day. It is a wonderful place, beautiful scenery - you will get lots of good photos. We walked everywhere, the streets are very narrow & can be a little confusing toward the rail station. We got lost a couple times trying to find our way to the rail station, each time thinking we KNEW for sure which street to take, ha. There are many wonderful restaurants directly on the sea, most with open patio seating jetting out over the sea (make sure to take a sweater or jacket at these) . Also one right by the Art museum (can't remember the name)- is is very modern, has great food & drinks (you can actually get a steak & a martini there, which you may find you will crave after so much seafood.) It is a place to use computer to check emails, etc. (for a fee of course.
Have a great time.

Travel Tips for Cefalú
A hotel? Maybe...

We had a short coffee break just before heading back home, we sat on a small terrace enjoying the last minutes in the city.... and that when I noticed this nicely looking building lightened by the rays of dawning sun.... ahhhh.... very beautiful architecture in Cefalu....

"A week is too short !"
Booked accommodation in Cefalu purely by chance after arranging Ryanair flights from Stansted to Palermo. What luck ! It is a beautiful fishing village about an hour's drive east of Palermo. We stayed in the hills above Cefalu and had a tremendous view. The town itself is beautiful with a host of restaurants along the waters edge and a characterful medieval centre.
Palermo is easily accessed by train and made a good day trip although it was lovely to come back to Cefalu at night. The promenade is packed with gellateria supplying locals and tourists alike for their nightly passiegata !
We ate superb meals, the highlights of which were the local speciality pasta dish - pasta con sarde, locally caught fresh seafood and of course cannoli !
The whole island is absolutely brimming with culture and is completely different to any other Italian destination we've visited. I would definitely love to return.
