"small but interesting"
the island of vulcano is in fact a dormant volcano, and you can realise this as soon as you get closer to the small harbour, because it is overshadowed by the bulk of the volcano. basically, the island consistas of the harbour and touristic area, the mighty volcano, and the upper flatland.

the volcano is a wonder. you climb it in an hour maximum, rather steep road, but the view of the crater (a few hundred meters wide) and from the crater is awesome. and intimidating, and you cannot help thinking of the fire some kilometers below your feet. the burning sulphur is everywhere and the effect of what an explosion keeps bothering your mind!! better not think about that!!! definitely A MUST when visiting the EOLIE.
