Very friendly accommodation

Giorgio is very accommodating and picked me up at the train station when I flew in to Palermo, even when I go off the train at the wrong station! The bed and breakfast is in a good location and much of the city is walkable. Generally Giorgio will take his guests on walking tours of the city or out to a local restaurant. He was one of the most accommodating hosts I've had. The beds were soft and the bathrooms were clean. My only concern was that it was a bit loud on the streets and difficult to sleep even though I am generally a deep sleeper.

Great local place

Giorgio's house is one of the most interesting places I've stayed in. It's basically a converted apartment block with 3 bedrooms in a building in a great location in the centre of Palermo. We knew this would be a different type of place when we were booking and he offered us a discount if we sent in poems from our countries!!

What really makes this place special is the host, Giorgio. The amount of work he puts in to entertaining guests is exceptional. On our second night there he took us out to Mondello to walk along the seafront and sample some typical Sicilian food. It was a really fun evening and we got to know an older couple from belgium who were also staying in the house. Giorgio also made us a fantastic breakfast with the best coffee I had over the entire trip (and that is really saying something!). On our last day he even dropped us to our station to catch the train to the airport. And all this was only 40 Euro per night -the cheapest place we stayed over two weeks but by far the most memorable.

The by night tours were great...we saw Palermo in a very different way an we visited some plac that usually the tourists cannot visit. Thanks and we hope to come back again.

Familiar atmosphere in Palermo

We spent a very good time at Giorgio's House and we can recommend the place. We met there quite a few people from allover Europe and Giorgio was a very pleasant guide for a walk through Palermo at night.

Unique Quality: central, close to the Norman Palace und Cathedrale

Giorgio's House!

After seeing a review of this place here on VT, and being amused by the...er...different website, I booked 5 nights here. It's the only B&B I've encountered that asks for your interests as part of your reservation. The B&B itself is a converted apartment, with three bedrooms housing up to six people, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a small breakfast/sitting room. It's pleasant, with nice, spacious rooms, all kept in excellent condition. It's in a decent location, only a few minutes walk from the main streets of the old city of Palermo, the Palazzo Reale, the Cattedrale. And it's only a few minutes walk from Orleans train station. But what really makes the place is Giorgio's enthusiasm. He makes a real effort to make you feel welcome, picking you up from the train station (if you go to the right station, unlike us ;)) and offering you advice and free tours. On our first night he drove us to nearby Mondello to look around and try some Sicilian foods. Later on he took us on a walking tour of Palermo by night. He provides a level of service above that which you'd expect without being intrusive, and is good company to boot. It's a very good place to stay, and *very* reasonably priced.

Palermo's outstanding B&B

Giorgio's house is located in the center of Palermo, not far from the central station.
There are 3 big comfortable rooms, a kitchen, a dinner room and two bathrooms.
The location is excellent as the major attractions of Palermo are in walking distance.

Unique Quality: Best service ever received

I recently (may 2003) went to Palermo Sicily with my wife. We stayed for 3 days at Giorgio's Home in Palermo. We received the most fantastic service we ever experienced. Giorgio agreed to pick us up at the Central Station of Palermo to drive us to our B&B, which in fact was not far from the station in the center of the city. There are only 3 rooms at Giorgio's house but they are very large and comfortable. Later Giorgio offered us a tour of the city at night, we were driven to Monreale (some 15 km outside Palermo) to see the mosaics, we went to Mondello to taste different sicilian specilities and on our departure Giogio brought us back to the station. All this service was completely free of any charge. It made our visit to Palermo really unforgettable.

More about Giorgio's House

Excellent base for seeing Palermo

by A TripAdvisor Member

Giorgio is a very good host - his complimentary guided tour and restaurant recommendations are terrific. The house is very clean and convenient. We really enjoyed our two nights and full day in Palermo - a good way to start or end a week and a half driving tour of Sicily. (We'd add the fifth star if Giorgio installed air-conditioning).

GIORGIO IS THE BEST IN PALERMO!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Giorgio is the best person I've met in Sicily. The b&b is great and the breakfast is amazing: a lot of paste and beverages! Yum yum!
Giorgio is extremely kind and the "tours by night" he offers will show you the real Sicily!
Please, support Giorgio! He's the best in Palermo!!!
