Palazzo Mirto by monkeyfeesh
The Palazzo Mirto is a superbly preserved 18th century building with all its original furniture and fittings. It was owned for centuries by the Filangeri family; they bequeathed it to the Sicilian region in 1982. It's exquisitely decorated with lavish tapestries and ornate ceilings. Of particular note is the small Chinese room - you'll know it when you see it - with its Oriental furniture, ornaments and tapestries. You'll probably be stalked by an attendant, but don't let him put you off. There's no information in English. Entry costs 4 euros 50 or is free if you're aged under 18 or over 65, 2 euros if you're 18-25.
