Piazza Armerina is a lovely little Sicilian town, which is lovely to stay in, but the main tourist attraction is a few minutes drive out of town. The Villa Romana at Casale is the most amazing series of mosaics I have every seen. Don’t miss out on seeing this place if you are interested in art, history or the creativity of man. The scale of this place will blow your mind and I recommend getting there early before the tourist busses.
