Hotel Cala Marina: Memorable for all the right reasons
This hotel has achieved a perfect formula that results in consistent guest satisfaction. I thought that so many good reviews were maybe to good to be true but now that my time has come to review it, I just can't find enough superlatives.
Location: Hotel Cala Marina is in the seriously picturesque and truly Sicilaian, fishing town of Castellammare del Golfo. Outside the front door is direct access to a small crescent shaped beach, and beyond this, the harbour where fishing boats are berthed. You could drive for days for a view like this so the thrill of having it constantly on tap is one that hits you afresh every time you step through the door.
Inside is just as pleasing. This is a small family owned hotel with foyer, dining room and free internet room downstairs and bedrooms upstairs. No fussing with lifts or climbing multiple flights of steps, just sheer simplicity and comfort. Our room was at the side of the building and as different from the average hotel room as chalk and cheese. Sweetly old-fashioned in decor but with a modern bathroom, it perfectly combined atmosphere and convenience.
But what really makes Cala Marina so superior is the unbelievable level of customer service. Reception staff are so friendly and helpful that a stay here feels much more like staying in someone's house than staying in a hotel. From breakfast every morning - delicious and substantial - to the last lingering enjoyment of the harbour view at night, every time you pass through the foyer you will be welcomed with genuine warmth and helped out with any queries or problems.
This is a small, spotlessly clean hotel, with cheerful, comfortable decor. It is blessed with a stunningly beautiful location and treats its customers like guests not reservation numbers. A simple formula perhaps but one that they have got so perfectly right. If you're in this area don't pass up the chanceof staying here. That is of course, if you're lucky enough to be able to get a room.
A view that will delight your eyes and nourish your soul in an unforgettable way. Staff that make you wonder why all hotels can't be like this.

Hotel Punta Nord Est: Hotel Punta Nord Est in Castellamare del Golfo
We stayed for a week at the Hotel Punta Nord Est in Castellamare del Golfo. For a double room we paid 94 euros a night. The room was ok, with a very nice bathroom and air conditioning. We got breakfast included, which was pretty good, and also free airport transfers to Trapani airport (you can also get free transfers to Palermo airport). The staff were friendly and helpful, although their English wasn't perfect. The hotel has a pool, which seems to be rare amongst the hotels in the town. The pool was good, particularly because it was so hot (it gets up to 40C in summer).
The hotel is located just on the eastern edge of the town, about 10 mins walk from the centre. The walk into town is not very nice: the pavements are all cracked and it is very dirty. This is, however, pretty normal in Sicily.
Overall I'd recommend this hotel. It's fairly expensive but so are all the other hotels in the town.
The hotel has access to it's own beach (although it can be reached by locals, but only by swimming!). The beach is very nice, and much better than the beach in town, which is dirty and has broken glass on it.

Pensione Tranchina: Warm and hospitable Pensione in superb location
Pensione Tranchina is everything that one could hope for from a Guesthouse is a tiny little town on the Sicilian Coast! The town is gorgeous and the sea nearby crystal clear and clean. The building is quaint, easy to find, centrally located, etc (not difficult to get to by public transport). The rooms are nicely furnished, clean and cool. The breakfast and dinner is tasty and healthy! The price is very fair, even in August, for an excellent and easy place to stay in this delightful corner of Sicily.

Hotel Madariq: Excellent value
During one of our seemingly endless road trips around Sicily we came across Castallammare del Golfo and fell in love with it. We immediately decided that on our next trip to Sicily we would use it as a base. The following year, we were back but without anywhere to stay
The first hotel we came to was the Madariq. Run by an American lady and her Sicilian husband,
it's an impeccably presented establihment, only 50 metres from the Maediterannean.
Perfect little beach close by, that nobody uses. It feels like being on a private beach.

Before my trip I made some search on the B&b in Scopella.
I put it some addresses I found, but I saw a lot of new B&b and Agriturismo signs in the area.

The Tonnara: B&b
In Scopello and the surronding there are some bad & breackfast but in the hig season ( june-sept) and inthe Easter period or some italian vacation is better to have a reservation.
In the tonnara there is a simply b&b, but they want a minimum of 4 days stay...the room are clean but basic, but the location is fantastic.
