Hotel Lido Azzurro: A simple beachfront villa
An excellent budget hotel, although not really up to date as far as fixtures go but charming just the same. We stopped at a more expensive hotel up the road but decided on this one for the charm of its balconies overlooking the sea. This is the cheapest of the beach front hotels at Marinella di Selinunte and is worth looking up if you're out of the main season. They also have an excellent restaurant across the road overlooking the sea and serve breakfast on the terrace of the hotel.
There's almost an Agatha Christie feel to this place - you can just imagine Miss Marple observing the comings and goings of murder suspects whilst doing her knitting on the balcony!
And the staff were also charming.

Hotel Garzia: Selinunte's friendly hotel
Even the emails from hotel manager Catena communicated a warm and sincere hospitality. The whole place was extremely clean. The restaurant was excellent, in fact we ate dinner there two nights even though we had originally planned to go somewhere else the second night. Above all, the entire staff seemed focused on helping us have a pleasant stay. Some spoke more English than others, but all made an effort. After our short stay, we left feeling that we now have friends in Selinunte.
Nice location - close to beach and to the archeological site.
Hotel building designed by an important Sicilian architect and built of local stone.
