Another collection of Greek temples in Selinunte
"A quiet retreat"
Selinunte is a quiet spot, at least in September, with a perfect quaint sea-front and a nice beach. There is not much to do here apart from visiting the Greek site for which it is famous and strolling around the village in general. The archaeological site is split into two sections and requires a good 20 minute walk between the two although there are golf carts which will run you between the two for 3 euros per person. Many of the temples have suffered earthquake damage but the most complete (Temple E - a Doric construction) is worth the trip alone if only to absorb the sheer vastness of the structure. Only part of Selinunte has been excavated so the potential for more great discoveries is definitely there.
