Here in Siracusa you always breathe the classical air of Ancient Greece and Rome and eye numerous evidence of the past, that managed to live through milleniums, earthquakes and destroying activity of people. APOLLO'S TEMPLE (VII B.C.)is one of them.

"Portopalo di Capopassero"
Portopalo of Capo Passero is a small town situated at the very South-eastern end of Sicily.
The name comes from the Latin Portus Palus, that means porto palude (marshy harbour), and in 1975 the words Capo Passero have been added to distinguish it from the homonymous Porto Palo in the province of Agrigento.
In front of Portopalo there is the little isle of Capo Passero and right the stripe of water between the isle and Sicily is the strategic point for tunny fishing.
"Sciacca"
Sciacca is the oldest baths resort of Sicily and one of the biggest town in the south-eastern coast. It is white-washed and being situated on Mount Kronio, it has an Arab look.
All its people know the legend telling that Daedalus, expert in labyrinths, was able to channel the hot vapors coming from the fissures of the rock and use them for baths.

"Pachino"
Near Portopalo you find Pachino...In this county the most important product is Pomodoro Ciliegino, the little red tomato...very good!!
I like them on Bruschetta with Rucola and olive oil..
"Noto"
Noto is one of the most beautiful villages of Sicily. It offers an architectural panorama which is unique in the whole world for its unity and the harmony of a baroque style. Every corner, every stone surprises after having overcome the touching impact with the scenografic expression of its major architecture like the Cathedral and its stairs, S.Domenico, Ducezio Palace, Nicolaci Palace
