After finally managing to find the bridge onto Ortigia (the signs are a bit misleading and the one-way system confusing) I realised I hadn't bothered to write down the address of the place we were booked in to the first night! Fortunately I knew roughly whereabouts on the streetmap it was and found it after a bit of a stroll round. I have to say I was well impressed with this place which is situated right in the heart of the oldest part of Ortigia. The building was constructed in the 17th century and has somehow retained it's character in spite of renovation. We had room 7 which was tastefully decorated in light and earthy colours and had sections of plaster missed out in places to reveal the thick stone walls.
Parking is available around the corner a couple of minutes walk away and there's a lift for baggage.
Breakfast was excellent and they deliver it to your room, at a time stated by you, on trays (for use in bed!) or on the rooftop terrace which offers views over the town and the sea. The room was immaculately clean and well-equipped so you could cater for yourself if need be.
