Museo Archeologico Regionale Paolo Orsi by hquittner
This is a modern strucyure with a wealth of material both prehistorical and items from every Greek settlement on Sicily and later Roman additions. NO CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED!!. As yet there are no guides or explanatory books. There are good labels and thematerials are by kocality and by date but the museum design is not linear and without a diagram the path thru the museum is bewildering. To make matters worse we were neophytes and did not know one colony from another. "Where is Meg. Hyblaea???"There were plenty of diagrams, photos, and maps of the digs but not an introductory overview. (I think the surreptitious picture is of a nude Ephebus (5C BC) from Adrano (on the S, side of Etna, but don't bet on it).
