We stayed here on our second night on Ortigia and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation. We hadn't booked to stay but couldn't stay at Aretusa Vacanze, where we stayed the night before, because it was booked up. There is some sort of partnership between the two places and yet they are entirely different (see the tip on Aretusa Vacanze) but both are very pleasant. The views over the harbour and down the eastern coast were breathtaking and the owner can arrange almost anything from watersports to excursions. He even lets you use the scooters parked in the huge hallway. The room was both modern in decor and immaculately clean. On arrival, look out for the small green (I think) canopy with tiny gold lettering over the main door to the B&B because the entrance is fairly discreet and easily missed.
The owner of this place has hospitality off to a fine art! Breakfast is served on the terrace with fantastic views over the harbour.
Directions: Turn first right after crossing the bridge onto Ortigia - you should have the sea on your right. L'Approdo delle Sirene is at the end of the street, obviously on your left or it'd be in the sea!
