Fontana di Aretusa
The Fontana is a lovely spring with a legend. A god fell in love with a sea nymph who turned into a spring to escape him. He, of course, turned into a river and "mingled" with her anyway. Although people were looking down from a railing, no one seemed to be down by the fountain. I looked for the entrance and found that you have to pay 4 euro to enter a little aquarium first. I decided that they really do need the tourist money to keep all these little historic sites preserved, so I paid. I thought it was worth it. I spent some time looking at the aquarium and then walked out to where the fountain was. I had the whole place to myself since no one else wanted to pay the 4 euro. I thought it was worth it.
