Airport to Letojanni Transportation? HELP?!
by meli2884
Hi,
How can we get from Catania Airport to Letojanni? I know that there are three options: 1. taxi; 2. train; 3. bus. Which one is the most effective way (i.e. value for money)?
I have researched the bus website and see that there is a bus that goes from Cantaia Airport to Taormina and then another one that goes from Taormina to Letojanni (on http://www.interbus.it/). How can I reserve/get tickets??
I don't have much information on the train or taxi options. Does anyone know about these?
Thanks for the help.
Melissa

I did a bit of research on train options. Looks like it won't work for us since there is only one option for Catania to Taormina and it doesn't work with out flight schedules.
train website is: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it
Travel Tips for Taormina
The perfect place to see the world go by
by mabu about Mocambo Bar
This is the perfect place to sit down and watch the world go by. Its located on piazza IX Aprile so everybody walks past there. Probably its where you go to see and be seen.
The Drinks aren't realy cheap but the sights are worth the price. I liked the "Apperitivo da Casa" Lots of fruit juice and some kind of alcohol in it.

"Getting to Taormina"
Taormina is a small town located on the east coast of Sicily, about 60 km north of Catania which is home to one of the international airports on the island.
The drive from Catania airport by taxi costs 90 Euros (May 2008) and is mostly on a dual carriageway with some nice views of Mount Etna. The last few kilometres are on narrow roads which wind their way up the mountain to Taormina and provide some great views of the coast. One of the nicest views is of Isola Bella.
"Shopping and eating"
Taormina is a place with great charm with small streets full of interesting shops and lots of restaurants.
