We are arriving in Taormina by cruise boat and anchering in Giardini Nexos.
Instead of taking a taxi to Taormina, we would like to take a local bus. Does any one have any information regarding location of bus stop, how much will it be and how oftern does it run?
Is there any other way to go to Taormina?
Is there a funicular service on the shore that we can walk to? and if so how much is it?
Any information will be helpful.

The funicular is not in Giardini but goes from Taormina to its beach instead.
Buses run from several places in Giardini including the train station it shares with Taormina above. Here is a link with timetables (in Italian but easy enough): http://www.etnatrasporti.it/
A small volcano north of Etna once woke and poured enormous quantities of lava which flowed down to the sea. The lava flows were followed by a torrent of water which ploughed a channel thru it, smoothing the lava and clearing away the aggregate.
The name of the river Al Qantarah dates back to the period of Arab occupation and refers to the arched bridge built by Romans.
The Piazza Duomo is probably the most quaintest in Taormina with the baroque fountain in its centre - the emblem of the city. It was built in 1635 in Taormina marble. The cathedral is though to be from around 1400. The square seemed to be a popular meeting place for locals
